The Story

Founded in 1940 and based in Rockville, MD, NIH Federal Credit Union is the nation’s largest credit union serving the healthcare and biomedical industry. 

NIH Federal Credit Union had built a data environment that looked functional on the surface, but required extensive vendor involvement for even minor changes and demanded technical expertise most staff didn’t have. For years, NIHFCU had invested in building what appeared to be a functional data environment. The credit union had successfully consolidated key data sources: credit cards, first mortgages, and core system data, into their previous vendor’s platform.
